Jumper Photo Magazine non è una rivista nata per la carta e adattata per iPad: è nata digitale, è figlia dell’era digitale ed è dedicata ai fotografi professionisti. Parla di creatività, di tecnologia, di marketing e di cultura dell’immagine, ma è anche un laboratorio di ricerca nel campo dell’editoria digitale. Progettata dai creatori del sito www.jumper.it ed edita da Simplicissimus Book Farm, Jumper Photo Magazine offre una serie di strumenti che rendono la fruizione digitale più interattiva e multimediale:
- Link per inviare mail, commenti e condividere su Twitter;
- Grafica verticale e orizzontale diversa e complementare per tutti gli articoli. Questo consente di sfruttare e ottimizzare gli spazi oltre a dare stimoli e maggiore impatto creativo a tutti i contenuti;
- Tutti i testi sono in inglese e in italiano, l’utente può selezionare la l
ingua in ogni articolo, e si modifica il layout in funzione di questa scelta;
- Video e animazioni: tante, fatte con varie tecnologie;
- Grafica, font, dimensioni, leggibilità studiati nello specifico per la visione e la fruizione su iPad. Esempi: fondo non bianco ma “carta”, che rende più riposante la lettura, dimensione font e interlinea testate su vari utenti per arrivare alla migliore leggibilità, testo su colonna unica per rendere fluida la lettura e gradevole, senza “salti di colonna”, lunghezza delle pagine modificata in funzione della lunghezza del testo.

Jumper Photo Magazine is not a paper magazine adapted for the iPad: it’s digital since its birth and it’s dedicated to professional photographers. It’s about creativity, technology, marketing and imaging culture, but it’s also a research lab about digital publishing. Designed by the creators of the website www.jumper.it and published by Simplicissimus Book Farm, Jumper Photo Magazine makes reading and digital fruition more interactive:
- With links to send emails, comments and share on Twitter;
- Portrait and landscape modes always offer different and complementary contents. This means both making the best of the layout and giving a bigger creative impact to all contents;
- All articles are both in English and Italian, the reader can choose the preferred language for each;
- Many videos and animations, made with different techniques;
- Graphics, fonts, dimensions and readability are specific for the fruition on the iPad. For example, the background of the page is not completely white but “paper-like” in a way that makes reading easier and more relaxing, the font dimension and spacing have been tested with different users to get to the best readability, while the text is on a single column to make reading more enjoyable, without making the reader “chase” the text up and down the page. The length of the page is modified depending on the length of the text itself.
